Glenwood Baptist Church is happy to announce the call of Joel McDaniel as their pastor. Pastor McDaniel and his wife Kimberly and their daughters, Kayla and Kinsey, will arrive in the Glenwood community by the end of January 2012.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas in 1990, Pastor McDaniel began his studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a dual Masters degree in 1993 in the areas of Religious Education and Family/Marriage Counseling.
Pastor McDaniel began his ministry in Houston, Texas where he served as minister to Junior High Students before moving back to North Carolina in 1994. He served at Gray Stone Baptist Church of Durham, North Carolina, as Minister of Youth/Family Life and also Minister of Education until 2000. From 2000 to December 2011 Pastor McDaniel was Pastor of Adult Ministries at Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2005, Pastor McDaniel helped found OHT Outfitters, Inc., a men's hunting and fishing ministry, which he continues to serve as Executive Director.
Jim Brewer retired from Glenwood Baptist in June 2011 after 27 years as pastor. Seth Wachtel served as interim pastor during the month of July 2011, and Pastor Tim Horldt has acted as interim from August 2011 and will continue until the end of January 2012.
